How Our Lessons Work

A simple, step-by-step process that keeps riders (and parents) feeling calm, informed, and confident from first hello to “I did it!”

01
Join the Waitlist

Get early access when lesson dates are released in your city.

02
Book your 1-on-1 lesson

Choose times that work best for you when scheduling calendar is released.

03
Meet, gear up, and get riding

We provide bikes and helmets for every session, go over safety, and begin with gentle balance and braking tools at your own speed. Each lesson lasts an hour long and the goal is to learn in 3-5 lessons.

04
Build skills and celebrate wins

Each lesson adds one small, doable step. We end with a quick recap, next steps, and a big “I did it!” moment when riders are ready.

FAQs

What gear is provided vs. what to bring?

Just wear athletic clothes, closed-toe shoes, and bring water. We provide all the bikes and helmets you need, but you are more than welcome to bring your own if you prefer.

Are lessons suitable for all ages?

Yes. We work with riders ages 3 through adult, including adaptive riders. We adjust the pace, drills, and communication style to fit each person.

How long are the lessons, and how many will we need?

Lessons last an hour. Many riders see big progress in 3–5 lessons, but we’ll always be honest about what we recommend.

Do you offer lessons for adults who feel nervous or embarrassed?

Absolutely. A lot of our adult riders feel anxious at first. We keep things private, calm, and judgment-free so you can focus on learning, not feeling watched.

What is your approach to teaching?

We use a 1-on-1, confidence-based method that breaks riding into small, doable steps. We focus on safety, balance, and clear communication so riders feel safe and successful.

Where are your locations?

We currently teach in two cities: Pittsburgh, PA (The Tandem Connection) and Grand Rapids, MI (Garfield Park Community Center).

What happens if it rains or the weather is bad?

Safety and comfort are our priorities. If the weather doesn't cooperate, we'll reach out to reschedule your session.

What is your cancellation or rescheduling policy?

We ask for at least 24 hours' notice for any cancellations or requests to reschedule. This helps us manage our small team's schedule and offer the spot to other riders.
